AMENDMENT XI
( RATIFIED 2-7-1795 )

     The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed t    to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted a   against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or b   by Citizens Or Subjects of any Foreign State.
    
AMENDMENT  XII
( RATIFIED 6-15-1804 )

     The Electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by      B   ballot for President and Vice-president, one of whom, at least,    ss shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves;     t    they shall name in their Ballots the person voted for as P               dd President, and in distinct ballots the person boted for as  Vice      V   President, and of all persons voted for as Vice-President, and of t    the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and  s  d   certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the U   United States, directed to the President of the Senate;- The       SS President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and H   House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the         D   votes shall then be counted; - The person having the greatest     dd number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such      kd number be a majority of the whole Number of Electors        dd      p   appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the p   dd persons having the Highest numbers not exceeding three on the l    list of those voted for as President, the House of
     Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the    P       r    president.  But in choosing the President, thevotes shall be t      ak taken by states, the representation from each state having one vo vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or m   dd members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the
     states shall be necessary to a choice.  [And if the House of ReRepresentatives shall not choose a President whenever the right of of choice shall devolve upon them, before the fourth day of MaMarch next following, then the Vice-President shall act as PriiPresident, as in the case of the death or other constitutional
     disability of the President -] 1   The person having the greatest nu number of votes as Vice-President, shall be the Vice-President, if    such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors      ap appointed, and if no person have a majority, then from the two hi  highighest numbers on the list, the Senate shall choose the ViiiVice-President; a quorum for the purpose shall consist of twitwo-thirds of the whole number of Senators, and a majority of thiithe whole number shall be necessary to a choice.  But no perperson constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.

Section  1
     Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as punishment f    for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall e   exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurjurisdiction.

Section  2
     Congress shall have power to enforce this article be appropriate leglegislation.

     All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject t    to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and o   of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce a   any law which Shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citcitizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any perperson of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nornot deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal proprotection of the laws.
